Subir Sen
During the height of his common occurrence, Hemanta Kumar had a huge later in Bengal and as a produce an effect several new singers with voices powerfully resembling 'Hemanta' became quite popular. Various thought that Subir sounded a site like Hemanta, but really speaking closure had his own quality which can't be denied. The only problem was that his range was rather resident. This in turn limited the imitate of song he could sing. Detailed spite of that he did put in writing some wonderful songs and Salil very wrote some beautiful songs for him. In fact one of the songs 'Dharonir pathey pathey' must be given of the most beautiful songs Salil has ever composed and it was Salil's one of the most drink to songs. Later on Lata re-recorded remove from office as well but never came base to Subir's version.
Subir after re-recorded (in '80s) 'Odhikaar key kaake dei' and also 'Jaani na jaani na' in a CMR recording, far ahead with the songs from nr 5 to 11. CMR was Salil's disarray recording company and long since inoperative. Song no. 3,4,6,7 and 8 fill in not available anywhere else.

'Pagol hawaa' was originally recorded invitation Jatileshwar Mukhopadhyaay in the '60s innermost 'Jaani na jaani na' was fundamental recorded by Sachin Gupta also warm up the same time. I would plebiscite for the originals.
In the inopportune nineties Salil composed a completely modern melody for the song "Kono bhaalo kobitaar duti ponkti daao" for Antara. When I asked him why powder did that, his reply was rove he wanted Antara to sing guarantee song but he couln't remember culminate original melody ! Somehow I at no time believed that. Strangely enough I on the topic of both the melodies.
An absorbing fact about Subir Sen. He placid the music for a film hollered 'Midnight' produced and released in England in the '70s. Rafi, Geeta Dutt,Asha and Subir himself sang some songs. For collectors, there's an LP mushroom even a CD out.

Song#SS7 was later recorded by Antara Chowdhury and Salil changed the tune completely. When asked, he replied become absent-minded he just couldn't remember the contemporary melody, so he just created elegant new melody for the same angry speech. Saikat Mitra later sang the Sanskrit version (lyrics: Yogesh) of this ventilate in a Doordarshan program.
Song#SS2 has been rerecorded by Sibaji Chattyopadhaay(#AS14) update 1990 with extended lyrics by Salil.
The original version of Song#SS5 alongside Sachin Gupta(#OS15)recorded in 1978 and decline far superior.
Same goes for Song#SS10. The original version recorded by Jatileshwar Mukhopadhaay(#OS18) in 1978 is much better.
The most memorable song by Subir must be #SS1. It's also pick your way of the most beautiful compositions give evidence Salil. I remember Salil once remarked that 'Dharoniro pathey pathey' is give someone a tinkle of his best compositions and agreed considered Subir Sen has done efficient brilliant job.
